Blackjack- No Longer a One-Man Game
With its quick-fire rounds and famous name, blackjack has for many years been the game of choice on gambling tables across the world. With the increasing popularity of having a flutter in an online casino the game's appeal has continued to grow, opening it up to a much wider audience.
Traditionally, Blackjack has been a game of wits, the hopeful player verses the experienced dealer. Now, Multiplayer Blackjack is taking over the gaming world. This adaptation allows players to compete with each other while also taking on the dealer and enables competitors to utilise the tips and experience they have garnered from one on one games. It also opens up the players to a wider range of betting options that may not have previously been available in a single player game.
The introduction of multiplayer Blackjack has also allowed gamers to enjoy the more social aspects of online gaming. The online community can bring the spirit of the casino into the living room with facilities that allow players to chat with each other, giving rise to healthy banter between sparring players. Just as players in a casino face-off over tense hands, so they can over cyberspace.
It is important, however, that participants do not forget they are playing against "real" people. Healthy banter is one thing, but occasionally the anonymity of the internet lets people get carried away. The use of offensive or abusive language is not tolerated in this world of Blackjack and in some cases it can result and even has resulted in players being blacklisted from some sites.
The same can be said for players who use the chat feature to send spam and other kinds of business advertisements to the opposition. Game providers take this kind of misuse of the chat feature extremely seriously, as it could potentially affect the return of a "spammed" player to their site. Still, it is rare to receive such "spamming" and many players use the game as a starter or gateway because of its simplicity.
Players are dealt two cards each, as is the dealer. The aim of the game is to reach a total of 21 without going over that total (Bust) and with the least number of cards. Players can request additional cards by "Twisting" and once they are happy with their hand they can "Stick". The Dealer does the same. The winner is the person who is closest to 21 whilst holding the least number of cards. If you are lucky you will get a "Blackjack" (a total of 21 with the first two cards dealt), the equivalent of a Royal Flush in poker.
Most multiplayer games are set up to allow a set number of players. This is usually five, although this can vary from game to game depending on the particular website with which a player is registered. The game will begin once all the seats at the table are full. This type of game encourages fast-paced, lively play allowing skilled players to be recognised. An advantage of online multiplayer games is that they allow players to join games that are played with a lower limit, giving gamers the chance to improve their skills without the fear of breaking the bank.
Ergo, if you enjoy the thrill of tense face-offs between players in fast-paced casino games of daring and love to meet new people with whom to share that joy then Multiplayer Blackjack is the game for you. |
